Jesus Was A Preacher
                                              Luke 4:18-19

These verses reveal two things about the preaching of Jesus.
The Content Of His Message - V 18-19.
1) His Message Was A Message Of Gladness. V.18a - "The Gospel"
2) His Message Was A Message Of Goodness. V.18b - "Deliverance"
3) His Message Was A Message Of Grace.  V 19 - "The Acceptable Year Of The Lord"

The Congregation Of His Ministry - V 18-19.
1) His Ministry Was To The BrokenHearted - V-18a.
2) His Ministry Was To The Blind - V-18b.
3) His Ministry Was To The Bruised V-18c

Let us look at seven things about our Saviour as a preacher.

1. He Was A Powerful Preacher.  Luke 4:18 Mat 7:28-29 And it came to pass, when Jesus had ended these sayings, the people were astonished at his doctrine: For he taught them as one having authority, and not as the scribes.
           His Doctrine Was Perfect.
           His Delivery Was Powerful.

2. He Was A Precise Preacher.  Mat 4:17 From that time Jesus began to preach, and to say, Repent: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.
           His Start In The Ministry.
           His Subject In The Message. 

3. He Was A Perceptive Preacher.  Mat 9:14-15 Then came to him the disciples of John, saying, Why do we and the Pharisees fast oft, but thy disciples fast not?  And Jesus said unto them, Can the children of the bridechamber mourn, as long as the bridegroom is with them? but the days will come, when the bridegroom shall be taken from them, and then shall they fast.
           The Ignorance In Their Question.
           The Insight In His Answer.

4. He Was A Parabolic Preacher.  Mat 13:3 And he spake many things unto them in parables, saying, Behold, a sower went forth to sow;   Mat 13:10-11 And the disciples came, and said unto him, Why speakest thou unto them in parables?  He answered and said unto them, Because it is given unto you to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven, but to them it is not given.
           To Some, The Truth Is Revealed.
           To Other, The Truth Is Repressed.

5. He Was A Prepared Preacher.  Joh 8:28 Then said Jesus unto them, When ye have lifted up the Son of man, then shall ye know that I am he, and that I do nothing of myself; but as my Father hath taught me, I speak these things.
           He Was Not A Self Promoter.
           He Was Sovereign Prepared.

6. He Was A Precious Preacher. Joh 7:46 The officers answered, Never man spake like this man.
           He Was A Costly Or A Valuable Preacher.
           He Was A Cherished Or A Valued Preacher.

7. He Was A Poor Preacher. Mat 8:20 And Jesus saith unto him, The foxes have holes, and the birds of the air have nests; but the Son of man hath not where to lay his head.
           He Did Not Preach To Receive Riches.
           He Did Preach To Reveal Riches.
